This statement is being considered at a request from a technical subcommittee to clarify the use of calibration and standardization as it applies to NDT and in contrast to metrology. Since there can be confusion about the differences between these terms, particularly for auditors having a non-NDT background, the goal of the statement is to provide descriptive language to support the terminology definitions provided in Section A.
