Rationale

D8286 is up for periodic review and must be approved by December 2026 or it will be removed. Therefore, it is imperative that any further negatives are heavily considered as to and not cause further delays with getting the standard approved. This re-approval was originally submitted with no changes to the existing approved standard. However, a few negatives were received in ballot D37 (25-01) that were found to be persuasive. These include minor updates (highlighted in red throughout the text below) to include hemp in the title as well as adding definitions related to product recalls and withdrawals. Please note that an administrative ballot has been passed to include hemp in the name of D37 Technical Committee. The title of this standard has been updated to align with that. The added definitions are a direct copy of the approved definitions in D8220 Standard Guide for Conducting Recall/Removal Procedures for Products in the Cannabis Industry.
