Rationale

When C1717 was drafted, it was based on the older version of the E 72 Test method. The standard included all tests the task group thought may be used to establish masonry strength. It has come to the task group’s attention that the concentrated load test does not appear to be used and the task group could not see any need for determining the concentrated loading on a masonry wall. The task group felt it best to remove this test method from the standard so users do not get this method confused with the main out-of-plane wall tests.
