Rationale

In a previous revision of D5442, the precision was found to be unsatisfactory based on the requirements of ASTM D6300. To address this, work item WK89836 was initiated to expand the method’s applicability up to C60. In that study, one sample was successfully analyzed by approximately 20 laboratories. This new work item is intended to conduct a full interlaboratory study (ILS) in accordance with ASTM D6300, covering a scope range up to C60.
